After beating the long-time undefeated and tournament favorites Team EnVyUs in the semi finals earlier today, Rogue confirmed the good momentum, and edged fellow Europeans REUNITED 3-1 in the great finals in order to win the 2016 ESL Overwatch Atlantic Showdown at the Gamescom in Cologne, Germany.
With the win, Rogue will be taking home a $40.000 prize money in the until now biggest tournament the young Overwatch scene has seem thus far.
Rogue got their first win in the series on Hollywood, after REUNITED barely failed to push the payload to its final destination. REUNITED however stroke back on Ilios, and took away the map after two wins on Well.
On Dorado, Rogue won their second map after taking the win quicker than REUNITED – with Kevyn “TviQ” Lindström being the highlight of the game (and the series), with a devastating perform on Genji.
With match point in their favor, Rogue showed a solid defense on King’s Row, and managed to close out the series 3-1.
