Following Hankil “Road” Yoon’s Competitive Ruling, which saw I May’s support being suspended for his next World Championship game due to recent instances of verbal abuse and racism in both Korean and North American servers, the team decided to start Ha-woon “Athena” Kang in the decisive match-up against Taiwan’s Flash Wolves, according to LoL Esports.

Athena is a mid laner, but will have to fill the spot as, due to the tournament’s rules, teams are not allowed to register more than one substitute player – I May have two mid laners on their roster for the 2016 World Championship, the other being Kang “BaeMe” Yang-hyun, who will logically also start tonight against the Taiwanese Champions.

As Road is suspended only for one game, he is expected to return to I May’s starting line-up for the team’s remaining matches of the day, against SK Telecom T1 and Cloud9.

I May currently sit in third place in group B, holding a 1-2 record following losses to SK Telecom T1 and Cloud9 and a sole win against the Flash Wolves in week 1.

More to come
