ROX Tigers

Today, August 20th, 2016, will be marked as the day on which two curses have been broken. First, the ROX Tigers, this unlikely bunch of misfits and rejects, were, after three painful losses to SK Telecom T1 (LCK Spring 2015 and 2016, and the 2015 World Championship), finally able to win their first major trophy, after a thrilling, fantastic 3-2 win against KT Rolster, a gigantic organization who re-invented themselves throughout the season in order to challenge the very best South Korea has to offer.

With this historic win, the Tigers are qualified as Korea’s first seed to the upcoming World Championship, and – now coming to the second curse broken today – SK Telecom T1 became the first reigning World Champions to secure a spot into the following World Championship, as the LCK team with the highest amount of Championship Points.

Meanwhile for KT Rolster, the regional season is still not ever, as they will be competing for Korea’s final international spot at the Regional Qualifier, where they will be arriving as huge favorites after this majestic performance at the LCK Summer Split playoffs, marked by a reverse sweep against SK Telecom T1 and this extremely close best-of-five against the now new LCK Champions ROX Tigers.
