Giants Gaming announced today on the organization’s official Facebook page that they have released Lennart “Smittyj” Warkus and Seung-ik “S0NSTAR” Son from their contracts, meaning that both players are now free agents, and aren’t in the organization’s plans for the 2017 Season.

“We are grateful for their work and we wish them the best of luck in their professional careers,” said Giants in the short statement.

Giants had a rough go 2016 EU LCS Spring Split, finishing last at the end of the regular season, but after successfully retaining their EU LCS spot in the Summer Promotion Tournament, the team surprised Europe, and ended the regular season in third place. In the playoffs however, they were eliminated in the quarterfinals after losing 3-1 to the Unicorns of Love.

A few weeks later, Giants encountered the Unicorns once more, this time for the European Regional Qualifiers to the 2016 World Championship, and were time this time swept 3-0 by UOL.
