Turner and E-League have just announced that they will be hosting the next Counter Strike Global Offensive major championship. It will be held January 22-29, 2017, in Atlanta.

The group stage will take place in the E-League studio where Season 1 and 2 of E-League took place as well as the Overwatch Open. The playoffs will take play at the Fox Theater from Jan. 27-29. The Grand Final will be televised live on TBS with a simulcast on Twitch. This means that everything that will be shown on TBS on Friday will also be shown on twitch including match analysis. This is something that people complained about during all of E-Leagues previous broadcasts.

The format will be the same from previous majors meaning the top 8 from ESL One Cologne 2016 will be directly invited to this event. The other 8 will be decided by a qualifier in the same style of former majors. These teams will all be fighting for a $1,000,000 prize pool.
